Connecting a ImageWriter II To a Modern computer

I just double-checked, my Socket 7 PC with Win2K has the C-Itoh 8510 driver. At least that one is NT-based, like modern windows, I'll see if there is a way to extract the driver from Win2K.

    Performa 6205 - YUCK!

The RoadApple case??? Yeah, I'd take metal MedusaMess over spindlyPlastyBreakingClips any day of the week.

7.6 will not boot to partition # 2 (Color Classic II)

You would just use a multiended (in this case three) ribbon cable.

7.6 will not boot to partition # 2 (Color Classic II)

AFAIK, you can only boot from the first partition on a disk. My suggestion: Install multiple system folders on one partition, and then use something like SystemPicker to boot the different folders. You can also manually bless and de-bless them too.

Macintosh SE/30, silver internals of case

Yeah, nice link! BTW: the 68000 is just my rank on the forums, my actual name is "TheMK". Not a surprise, as the back half of the case has to be installed at the factory. Likely, Apple realized that since it's the inside of the computer (and a high-voltage CRT cabinet (with "no user serviceable...

Macintosh SE/30, silver internals of case

I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's probably something to help with EMI shielding (so it could pass FCC rules). There is probably a silvery metallic paint that would work okay for this purpose.

Mac Keyboards with Windows and Linux, convenience?

What is this windows key you are talking about [:o)] ]'>. I've been using Unicomp's 101 key keyboards, and the PC122 now. I like that larger space bar, and extra space in between my control and alternate keys. On the PC122 however, there is a windows key off to the side in the left-hand...

FAT formatted disks, converting files (system 7)

GraphicConverter is great for graphics conversion operations. PC Exchange is the name of the official apple program that allows FAT disks to be mounted to the desktop, and also handles some type/creator codes based off of DOS file extensions too. I use ResEdit to manually change the type and...

    Performa 6205 - YUCK!

I think a few are missing the point. The idea was to overclock a quadra to 40MHz. After seeing mine, and other members here on this boards' success with overclocking a 63x series logic board, he decided he wanted to try it himself. So, he picks up a cheap Performa 6205, with the intention of...

    Performa 6205 - YUCK!

Im with trash, the metal chassis is nice, plastic is optional [:o)] ]'> I never found my 630 to be terribly loud, though a modern fan replacement would be nice to do, swapping it shouldn't be a big issue. MedusaMess may not be the most convenient for accessibng the inside cables, but the...

    jt's Random Questions Thread

A whole bunch of 040s speaking, time to break up the party with an 68000 I really don't know. My SE (which houses my SE/30 board) chassis has a protrusion in the screw hole that the drilled out hole on the card slides into, so, I've never had to screw an SE/30 expansion card in. Regarding...

To be honest, the homepage of Let's Encrypt has "LINUX FOUNDATION" written on the top of it, it's not a huge surprise that they are anti freebsd. At some point, if the current admins are unable to maintain the site, than perhaps a pass down to a new administration team that is capable would be...

My idea of databasing the information there was less about integration with the rest of the site, and more about having the data in an alternative format, that would make doing something with it easier in the future.

    Dayna Mini Etherprint

It depends on your router, my 10/100/1000 router negotiated a 10Mbps link just fine for my mini etherprint, and it runs just fine on a switch with all other 1000Mbps equipment.
