I also have had much better luck with Lido than with the patched Disk Tools. SCSI Probe is also useful - sometimes it will let you know what the computer is able to detect even though it isn't mounting anything. If there is a termination problem you will likely get an error message in SCSI...

I now have soldering tweezers and prefer to use them as removal with them is as quick or quicker than the twist method, but for what it's worth, my experimentation suggests that if you must use the twist method (proceed at your own risk), the best way is to twist gently and with small movements...

I have the same issue with a Wallstreet with maxed out RAM. Waiting almost a full minute for the screen to light up after the boot chime is disconcerting but it works. 

Haha, congratulations? Glad I’m not alone in the overspending. My brain can never seem to register the simple fact that lots of small (and some bigger) purchases lead to nasty high totals at the end of the month.

I just saw this old thread. Congrats on a nice recap. What brand of solder paste did you use? Did you heat/flow it with a regular soldering iron, or something else (hot air, hot tweezers)? I’m about to do a whole bunch of recaps myself.
