Office X is still decent, and less resource-intensive than later versions.

    First Generation iPod 10GB

Awwwwww, lucky! I got a 10gig 2G a while back that played stuff fine, but I could never get it to sync with my machines. Then the screen ribbon cable came apart :\

    Scored a perfect Powerbook

AlBooks :D Nice one mate. The AlBooks still have plenty of life left in 'em. I still use mine as my main laptop. That said, I'd never want a 17", as I can't look at one and say "Ooo! Now *that's* portable!" I'll stick with my 12" :p

A pair of LCs, a few odds & ends

If you do find some kind of workaround for this, please do share! I'd be really interested in the solution for this both in OS 9 and very early versions of X.

    2G iPod

So I was poking around craigslist yesterday, when I came across "First Gen iPod - $20." Interested, I clicked to find what appeared indeed to be a 1G iPod! E-mailed the girl, and we met up today on campus. I give her $20, she gives me a rather dirty-looking 2G 10gig iPod :D I cleaned it up a...

G4 Mini going to OSX after linux

As to G4s and USB booting, my G4/500DP happily boots from a USB drive. I've booted Leopard and OS 9 off various USB drives.

Lookee What I Just Got ....

Man, I would'a sold you my Classic II (non-yellowed, 80meg HDD, 10 megs RAM) for around $50 mate :) Also, that person should'a sold their "G4 from 1997." Now *there's* a prototype!

    iBook G3

The iBooks are always interesting; they take beatings well enough, which is good because they're such a horror to get into. Great score, hopefully you can get the little bugger going!

    The greatest OS on Earth

Don't forget to install as many bits of software (especially web browsers!) as you can find! They put all kinds of treats in your system folder, wonderful things Apple never even would have dreamed of shipping with the OS!

New Gecko Browser for OS 9

Ooooo, now this looks seriously cool. This should make life far more pleasant for the few of us that still use Systems 8&9 on a regular basis :D

    20" Cinema Display

Yes, yes, I know there are cheaper displays out there with probably better specs. However, I've always been impressed by nearly any Apple panel when I've seen them, especially when I've seen them next to any other monitor. I'm not sure that viewing angles really count on this thing; even if I'm...

stuff for rebuilding the G4 Quicksilver

My dual 500 G4 tower ran fine for years until the PSU blew out randomly one day more than a year ago; prod the power button, it lights up, sparks and smoke come out the rear fan vent, light goes out. Poor bugger was out of it for around two months before I found a new PSU for it; in the...

    Macintosh 512k!!! EDIT: <POP>

IIRC, there's a little fuse on the analogue board, and that may have been the source of your *POP* sound. Might wanna hunt around a bit for it and take a looksie. I'd point out where it is for ya, but my oldest Mac is two models later, an SE :)

    Favorite mice

I'll go ahead and be the oddball and admit that I like the mighty mouse; so long as I don't use it with dirty hands, it's fine. If I use it with dirty hands, then the scrollball gets jammed up in a moment, but a quick jet of compressed air makes it happy again. Four buttons and 360-degree...
