haha yea some guy was supposed to "for sure please hold it" come and get it today...still got it for now. I'm just trying to "get rid" of some of my collection to get it down to only 2 compact macs, my se/30 & color classic. enjoy it, if you need any spare parts i at least have replacement...

Hey guys, I ended up buying this. There is no rom SIMM in the system, do these have to have a socketed rom, or are some soldered to the logic board?

Sweet man! I have a IIsi rom on my SE/30. When you turn it on with the new rom, the screen displays a checkered pattern for a min or so, then boots normally. So don't be alarmed! I originally couldn't figure out what was wrong with mine...

I had the exact same problem on mine. Is the grease on the slide assemblies on the right hand side of the drive. For mine I had to remove 3 C-clips and clean the stuck parts. Be careful, parts are small and fragile. Good luck!

Update, I disassembled and cleaned the slides and mechanisms on the 128k drive and now it works perfectly! Going to try it on the 512k drive soon and hope it is not permanently damaged. :-/

Hello, at the request of the original poster, I have some pics of my Xceed card and CRT adapter. I am pretty sure it is a "Color 30". Sorry the pictures are not better, the only camera I have is my iphone. Also, what does the pot on the CRT adapter do...

No big deal. Most people would probably go straight to 7.6.1, however I only had 7.6 on CD. Once I installed 7.6 I could no longer boot the SE/30, and the 7.1 disk tools floppy won't recognize my laptops burned data CDs as readable. Luckily, there was a "system 7.5.5 temp" system still left...

I am not sure if the 512k rom's can handle an 800k drive, do you know?

I discovered the problem, the hack only works for system 7.5.3, 7.5.5 and 7.6.1, not 7.6. I updated to 7.6.1 and all is good.

Still no luck with the drive, I noticed it is causing my Mac SE/30 screen to have some wavy-ness that travels from the bottom of the screen up. I think it much have some interference with the power supply. Went to my 250mb Apple drive for now, going to have to revisit the scsi drive for...
