    Macintosh Plus 1MB Won't boot Help/Guidance?

The 4 pin cable I meant, it goes from the yoke to the board. The connector for the cable can have cracked solder joints

    Macintosh Plus 1MB Won't boot Help/Guidance?

There will be a black cable going to one of the CRT mounting points, clip it to the cable. DO NOT CLIP IT TO THE CHASSIS OR FRAME - YOU MIGHT FRY THE LOGIC BOARD

    HELP - 512K won't power up

Oh right. Yeah I do that with all Macs I've worked on (CRT-wise), and that works great.

    Mac ii not working

Right! That's really interesting, and mildly annoying, as it makes for another failure point. Still really cool though

    Mac ii not working

Why does it have two batteries? Does it need 6V for some reason?

Anything I should know before I do a flyback replacement on a trayloading iMac?

Thanks @Phipli - I was shaking a bit when I turned it on! Some photos (left to right): Early version of my screw page, had a lot more afterwards. New flyback CRT neck The boards themselves with old flyback Finished result I didn't take many photos because it was a lot of work and I was...

Anything I should know before I do a flyback replacement on a trayloading iMac?

Just gave it a go - Success! Will upload pics later. Needed to buy a new 80W soldering iron and some 3mm wick, and it worked! So glad

    HELP - 512K won't power up

That was the only one. C33 and C36 are ceramic, and the big guy is blown, so no harm keeping it in there.

    HELP - 512K won't power up

Just to update: I still haven't replaced it because I am lazy and didn't place the order. Will do someday. Still working and rock solid, not sure why it caused a fuss, but I guess it was required to connect AC power to the board? Who knows. Either way no other problems with the mac :D

Anything I should know before I do a flyback replacement on a trayloading iMac?

Lol you didn't forget that XD Yeah good point, hence keeping it unplugged for like 2 weeks and always discharging to my house's ground point outside.

Anything I should know before I do a flyback replacement on a trayloading iMac?

Awesome. Yeah the flyback only goes in one way anyway, and as far as I know the whole iMac is working fine aside from the stupid flyback

Anything I should know before I do a flyback replacement on a trayloading iMac?

I found service manuals but neither show how to replace the flyback. Did find this though: http://www.moonrockreptiles.com/columns/imacrepair/index.html

Anything I should know before I do a flyback replacement on a trayloading iMac?

I bought a new flyback for my iMac G3 grape (rev c), and was just wondering if there's anything I should know about before replacing the flyback. I have left it off for about 2 weeks (although I'll discharge it anyway), and I've already taken it apart several times, so anything I should...

    Grape iMac DV Revival

Oh shame. I always triple check every capacitor and ensure I have the correct one in, so I'd say start there. Also check for loose connections
