But it doesn't look like that barrel plug has a USB port on its end.

I have had the exact same problem with mine, and it can be easily fixed. Basically the two power terminals are connected with a little dab of solder, and over time of unplugging and plugging it in it disconnects from the PCB. I just had to resolder the two terminals and it was basically like new again.

Does anyone know of a similiar one available anywhere?
