Well, I was just about to ask if anyone had replaced the useless modem card in a Pismo, and here you are doing it.
Case mod is not ideal, for sure, but the way I was going to go about it is to ditch the totally-useless-in-2025 S-Video port and mount the Mini-DIN upside down in its place.

Does the board sans IDC header fit into the space formerly occupied by the modem card?

would love this on my MDD

I might be a few years late for this one, but I'd love one of these for my Graphite G4.

@CircuitBored, if you're out of these boards, would you consider open-sourcing the designs so we can build our own?

Would also be interested to buy for MDD if these are still produced!
