Ban away, Tom.
Your little breeding ground of elitist "wanna-be" scholars on the Apple is about the worst forum I've run into in the last 10 years. This place, according to your time-line, is not even a year old and you're using phrases like "long-time members".
Technically if YOU had...
I say thanks to Magnus. He was cool, he answered it, and didn't have be a big shot or an elitest over it. The rest of you, grow he hell up and stop pretending you're some elder Apple authority or you know the "depths" of forums. I was doing this stuff 20 years ago, probably before most of you...
To everyone else, i apologize for this person. He's pissed off over a personal message i sent him and determined to get the last word in no matter how childish it might be.
Again, the problem is solved.
Well, i pulled it apart again and this happened:
No random stuff being displayed (like i said, they were coming out by themselves, even when i wasn't touching the keyboard)
But i can't get ANYTHING to come up. ONly the CTRL & APPLE & RESET keys seem to work..
Is it possible the board...
Regardless of certain things being said, the problem was solved back when ADTPRo was mentioned. There's no longer a need to keep posting on this subject.
Thanks.
I've been working, as some of you know, with Apple IIs, Mac, and the PC and i've run into a little problem with the //c and ADTPro.
With my //GS i can do it and "see" it working but with the //c i boot, get the "check diskette" message, type CTRL+RESET and get a prompt, type in IN#2 then CTRL+A...
Again, i have to add that i have a generic Woz machine and i was led to believe (before) that it took a special card to make things like hard drives and CD-Roms happen on a IIGS.
//C or NOT //C? That is the question that preoccupies my mind this time.
I've got an old //c i just pulled out of storage and it's got a few problems.
1) Floppy drive gets an error after trying to read disks i KNOW work.
I have external drives, IS there a work-around?
2) Keyboard sometimes...
Well Eureka and all, it actually was the CD-ROM drive. I put the other one in and...problem solved.
I guess the controller board on the drive is zapped. Odd how the door still works perfectly, even it uses a controller signal.
Oh well, thanks fellas.
Actually, i don't think your friend is correct. I pulled the Apple 600i drive and the externals showed up perfectly. If the SCSI controller was shot, they wouldn't be showing up and accessible.
It could be the drive by it's self, when it's gone other stuff works but i don't have another SCSI...
Okay, long story short, i put together an old 630CD Performa and it booted like magic and works great.
Here's the problem, it won't see the CD-ROM drive or any SCSI drives i add.
At first, i thought it was the external drives so i removed them and still got the same problem...no matter what i...
Well, there a few problems there.
1) I've got no GS hard drive. I have the cables and drive (on the mac) but i don't think my GS has the card to operate the hard drive (if one is needed).
2) I don't have GSOS 6, just a bunch of games from my old Apple II.
See, here's what i had "planned" to...
