Finally debombed my Mac SE SuperDrive and I'm suprised that the Maxell battery didn't leak or explode inside of it

I installed my MacBatt CR2032 adapter with a brand new and fresh 2032 battery and it's running well

Coming soon to macdat.net - all the available Macintosh schematics in one place!
(photo is WIP, I'm aware some blanks right now are available)
Note to self: when replacing UH6 on a Mac Classic logic board, go easy on the pads.

One bodgetastic chip replacement later…

Classic logic boards are made of dust and optimism.

I don't know why, but I remember Basilisk as being cludgy and crash-prone. I used the hda images from my ZuluSCSI in my 475 and it runs quick and completely error-free. The Daystar QuadControl control panel doesn't even crash it (it does it on the web-based InfiniteMac emulator).
i know this could be a very divisive subject among a lot of vintage laptop enthusiasts as it takes away a good amount of the charm from a vintage laptop, but what do yall think of the idea of modern LCD replacements for vintage laptops, especially those whose screens have deteriorated or are just broken?

This is like the "should I replace the slowly dying CRT in my arcade machine with an LCD" argument. Haven't quite gotten there...but I might be forced to in the future.

Yep, seems divisive... but for some models (you know who you are!) its kinda past time... we are already replacing motherboards in various models; this needs to happen, while we still have some working originals.

thanks for the input you guys. yeah, it isn't exactly the same as having the original screen but when parts are scarce and if your screen is broken... i'm personally all for it. theres only so much we can do.
