Yoot Tower

Anyone else remember Yoot Tower? It was the lesser known sequel to Maxis’ SimTower. The Japanese version received a number of expansions which sadly were never localized to the US.

I remember reading about the English version around the time I got SimTower and skipping it because it looked exactly the same.  LGR did a video on it earlier this summer, which like you said, shows how much the Japanese version of the game got that the English version didn't.

I got the Japanese version working on Windows 7 and there really is a lot that we didn’t get in the US including new items for the maps that we did get. Some of them are easy to understand even without knowing Japanese but others (like the Christmas map) are unplayable without knowing the language. The Windows US version is the worst iteration of it, with several bugs not in the Mac version. It’s still loads of fun and worth playing regardless of that though.

I’d never heard of it outside of a year ago. Why didn’t maxis license that and make

it Sim Tower 2?
