Wow... I don't know any of you!

Like digital sands through the hourglass cursor, so are the Mac's of our lives...

(yes, I know the Mac uses a wrist watch instead of an hourglass, but sand in your wrist watch would just plain suck...)

I'm too new for you to remember me, but I'm glad you came back! It goes to show that the passion for old Macs never leaves a person.

Welcome! You won't recognize me; I joined in January 2007.

I had just gotten my 2nd Mac about 4 years and 6 months ago; a 7200/90. I loved that thing to death... (literally). It no longer works. :(

But, that 7200 is where it allll started. 4 years and 6 months later, I've got over 50 machines in my house. :)

Thanks, Scott, gobabushka, and IPNixon!

I can't speak for anyone else, but part of the obsession for me is finally getting a chance to play with all this stuff that I could barely afford to read about when I was a kid.

That's quite a collection IPNixon!

A couple weeks ago I started going through my collection, which I have sadly neglected over the last few years as life has happened (work, house, marriage - St. Patrick's day this year, no kids yet - but I'm sure that can't be too far in the future). This project is a big reason why I have come back to 68kmla. Quite a few of my computers have software from previous owners, which I am backing up to my G3 for archival. Anyway, yesterday I pulled out my 7200/90 and powered it up for perhaps the second time since I've had it. Pretty nice computer... of course I say that to all the Mac's. :)

Well, I'll take this opportunity to say that I'm also a bit of an oldie in terms of 68kMLA. I think the only people I can identify who have been part of this community longer than I have are LCGuy, Danamania and Cinemafia, although if he's still around here in some form, MacTO might give me a run for my money.

Active all the way until March 2007, when my priorities shifted from "wasting time on the forum" to "passing some 300-level courses as a Freshman." (got an A in ENG321, if anybody cares. ;) )

Anyway, good to see some more faces from way back when!

I was a member of the old forums for a number of years. Some people here know me, some don't. 'Tis the nature of internet communities, people come and go.

Definitely, good to see some oldies still around! Oh, and congrats on the A Cory5412!

Your name looks familiar Temetka, but 2002/2003 was a long time ago so I could be making that up. I plan on be here a while, but life happens and as you said, "people come and go".

I'm pre-crash too. :)

You probably won't remember me. I registered...god, I don't remember! 2004? Anywho, it was a while back. :p At one point I was the member with the most posts - but that didn't exactly make me popular, so now I keep a low profile here.

Nope, 2004 was a good year after my last post in the old forums. It funny, this go-round in the forums I have almost as many posts in less than a month than I did in my entire previous stint.

LOL... I've found that it's usually more enjoyable to have good-natured discussions and debates than to go around intentionally pissing people off... damn maturing with age!

Welcome back, and now, (it hasn't been announced yet!)
Vassili Zaitsev is none other than ..........

Shaktiman!

After a recent hiccup with the hosting I took advantage and changed my user-name.

Who realised?
OMG, I haven't seen you since you were trying to network a couple macs years ago. How have you been Shaki?

The 7200 was a good machine, I have the same one that I've toted around with me during my moves of the past few years along with my favorite 8600/200 and a duo 2300. Most of the others are still in the attic of my ex-wifes where I had started a decent collection.

Where about in New Haven are you? That used to be my old stomping ground back in the early '90s.
