Woops...killed my LC III.

Well, we all do stupid things. And I've done a stupid thing. I decided to wash my LC III logicboard, nothing wrong with that. Once it was dry, I reassembled my LC III, put the VRAM, RAM, ROM ICs and PRAM back on the logicboard. Booted, and I got no chime and no video. I could smell something - yes, I had put the ROM ICs in the wrong way. The sockets are 42 pin, the ICs are 40 pin. The ROM ICs were running RED HOT. So I put them back right, and I still get no video, no chime. I have tried all the known troubleshooting methods, and it's still the same. So it seems I have fried these ICs, and I might have fried part of the board...who knows. Either way, that was very stupid and I should have checked the exact position of those ICs before removing them. D'OH. xx( xx( xx(

Too bad you're so far away. I've got at least one LCIII heading to the recyclers here in a week or so. :(
