I have an Artmix AztecMonster SCSI to CF adapter, and having some issues with data/disk stability. I was hoping to be able to use the CF cards to be able to conveniently transfer data between my MacBook Pro running 10.6 (with MacFUSE), and my SE/30.
When I transfer data from my laptop, sometimes I mount the CF card (using a USB card reader) in Basilisk II and transfer stuff over or sometimes in OS X in the Finder. When I use the cards in my SE/30, some of the files are corrupt and Disk First Aid shows a bunch of errors: directory, catalog, etc. I am wondering, is mounting the physical drives in these ways the cause of my data issues? Does anyone here mount their CF card in a "modern" OS?
Other info: I am currently using 2 Seagate microdrives, one formatted with Intech SpeedTools and the other with Charismac Anubis (with blind writes enabled - I know this is probably bad, however the other drive is behaving similarly). I am going to format both drives soon since I don't trust them anymore. Any advice on drive use between these two machines and formatting would be appreciated. I have another solid-state CF card arriving sometime soon since I also suspect the microdrives may be bad.
