Stack 'o Macs

The last month or so I've been busy acquiring and storing several Macs. Some were nearly complete, others not so much. They were all no-cost, though I did have to spend several hours working in a recycling center to get them.

PM G4 FW800 DP 1.42GHz

No RAM or hard drive, but I had lots of parts available, so put in 1.5GB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive. It's pretty speedy.

PM G4 QS DP 1GHz

This one's missing its power supply and optical drive and mount, along with the RAM and hard drive, but it does have a GeForce 4 in it.

PM G4 QS DP 800

This one's only missing the hard drive, has a Zip 250 and SuperDrive, and even has an AirPort card in it.

PowerBook G3 WallStreet custom

Needs a new keyboard, missing hard drive, untested, 13", has an 83MHz bus. Had 2 floppy drives in it.

PowerBook G3 WallStreet custom

Needs new keyboard, has hard drive, untested, 14", has 83MHz bus, battery and CDROM.

PowerBook G3 PDQ

14", 300MHz, needs new keyboard, missing hard drive

PowerBook 3400c/180

Needs hard drive, CDROM missing front bezel, max RAM.

PowerBook 540c

Untested, missing hard drive, but included two batteries and power supply.

PowerBook 5300c

Untested, complete

iMac 600 graphite

Complete, working.

PowerBook G4 800

Missing hard drive and some screws, bad power jack. Good shape otherwise.

PowerBook G4 500

Complete, bad GPU. Works otherwise, good cosmetic condition.

iBook G4 1GHz 12"

Good logic board, optical drive, and display, missing expansion RAM, hard drive, AirPort card, and several case parts.

iBook G4 1.33GHz 12"

Good logic board, optical drive, and display, boots but hard drive is failing, missing power port, expansion RAM, and several case parts.

iBook G4 1GHz 14"

Good logic board, optical drive, and display, missing expansion RAM, power port, hard drive, and several case parts.

iBook G4 1.33GHz 14"

Good logic board, optical drive, and display, missing expansion RAM, hard drive, and several case parts.

PowerBook G3 Lombard 333MHz

Missing hard drive and battery, boots. Decent shape.

iBook G3 12" 600, 700, and 800MHz parts

One good logic board each, along with two good displays. I could probably cobble one together from the parts.

Apple Cinema Display

This thing was shipped with the B&W G3, so it's trimmed in blue and white plastics. Probably 14" or so, some scratches on screen, untested, good shape otherwise.

Power Macintosh G3 Rev. 2 logic boards

Two of these, to replace failed Rev 1 boards in other machines.

10 ATI RAGE 128 PCI cards with DVD decoder modules (from B&W G3)

I've never seen any of these in person, so I grabbed as many as I could find before they were tossed.

Two IBM LTO Ultrium 1 tape drives, and about 15 tapes.

Two DDS4/DAT40 tape drives, with about 50 tapes.

A bunch of Mac SCSI cards to run above tape drives.

Also, loads of random parts like hard drives and RAM, some old Pentax K1000s in both regular and SE trim, some Digital8 camcorders, random batteries for Macs and PCs, and a 600MHz PIII Fujitsu LifeBook, which I rather like.

So, I've been pretty busy with collecting this junk, plus I mailed myself some stuff, mostly the tape drives and PMG3 parts along with some other bits, like a power supply for a 7600 to replace the one I blew up. I did manage to learn some stuff about recovering some very old Conner notebook hard drives, like the 20MB model in the PowerBook 100, so I'll post a thread about that eventually.
