Are you usinga modern monitor ?, maybe don't like the screen mode.

My 1500MHz Mac Mini G4 runs Mac OS 9.2.2 but only via VGA.
Well, it runs with a DVI cable but only on some specific combinations.
If I want to get 1600x1200 on my LaCie 320 monitor, I need to use the VGA cable.
BTW, I don't it makes a difference, but are you using the MacOS9Lives v9 version or the MTT version from the Macintosh Garden?

Something about the OS9 System Folder boot selection will be forgotten I presume, but a PRAM reset (hold opt-cmd-P-R while starting) will usually revert the display output to 640x480. Loading the OS may override once again to the unsupported resolution, but holding shift to boot without extensions and then selecting a valid resolution from the Monitors control panel should resolve this even after normal restart.

Hopefully it works on the mini, it usually does on the older ones.

I tried all night, even tried different monitors. I even tried my 240Hz dell monitor. everything gave me a varient of out of scan range or unsupported resolution message. I think I will just find a 1.42 Mirrored Drive Door and buy that

the video issues with the DVI output are probably related to the Pixel maxing out at 135mhz. those Mac minis really work best using VGA.
as mentioned try holding down shift at boot, and see if you can change the rest rate as well. I've had issues in the past with the monitors control panel reporting the wrong refresh rates for some screen resolutions in the past...
