SE/30 7.5.5 Italian ver. not connecting to the internet

Hi everyone,
I have a working SE/30 with System 7.5.5: the English version works very well, I can connect to the internet with my CNet PDS card (no drivers required), surf the web and use ftp. But then I tried to install the Italian version of system 7.5.5 on another partition and internet doesn't work: I followed this guide (https://wiki.victor3d.com.br/mac/se30-network/) which worked for the English version, I followed all the steps, installed OT 1.3, AppleShare 3.7.4, Choosed 7.6.1, Network software selector, I set it to OpenTransport, set all the settings to Ethernet connection, and auto DHCP.
Does anyone know why it wouldn't work? Could the languages themselves be interfering with each other?
The only weird thing I see in the Italian version is that when I use Fetch I get a message like “too many tcp connections active”.

I just noticed the PDS card is somehow being recognized, as the red LED is on. But the green one is always off…

@tommijazz91 Did you install the Italian version of OpenTransport? I wonder if it could be expecting localized versions of the networking software.

I know it's a lot to download, but here's a copy of Apple's old FTP update site. It has localizations of most of their older software: https://archive.org/details/download.info.apple.com.2012.11

Also, out of curiosity, how do the lights behave under the English version? Is the green light always on, then blinks with activity?

Thanks for answering! I’m quite sure it’s the Italian version, but I’ll double check next week when I’ll try reinstalling the system again from scratch.

I’ll check again as soon as I can, but if I remember correctly in the English version the red lights stays on and the green one blinks with activity. In the Italian version the red light is on but no green.

Interesting. So the red light is the link light, and the green light is the activity light

As you've already guessed, seems to be a software issue. When you have a chance, I'd recommend a clean install of the Italian OS, followed by an install of the Italian OpenTransport.

It works!
I installed all the Italian versions necessary and it runs very well. I did this in the following order: System 7.5.3, then 7.5.5, OT 1.1.1, OT 1.3, AppleShare 3.7.4 and it worked on the first try .

I couldn’t find OT 1.1.2 so I installed 1.1.1 and it works, does anyone know the differences between the two? Probably nothing major I guess since 1.3 replaces the previous version?

Testing at the moment with Netscape 2.02 and Fetch.
Downloads from Netscape are at almost 60K/sec, while the English version is more like 50K/sec…curious , maybe because the system is new and has more free memory available?
