SCSI2SD 32gb SD

Is it possible to use a 32GB microsd card in a 5.0b SCSI2SD and have it appear as one ~32GB drive under Mac OS 8.1 PPC?

i have a spare SD card left over from an rPi upgrade. Normally I just use 8gb sd cards and partition them into 2gb sections. But it would be nice to have one big disk if possible.

8.1 introduced HFS+ which doesn't have the 2GB limitation if I'm not mistaken. Only downside would be nothing below 8.1 can read it.

Plain HFS also doesn't always need to be partitioned to 2GB sections. The actual limit depends on specific OS-and-machine combinations.

Thanks @netfreak and @Cory5412. Based on that link I went ahead and formatted the MicroSD card using a USB adapter on a Beige G3 running 10.4.11 with the following settings:

1 HFS (Mac OS) Extended Partition

-entire disk allocated to said partition (~32gb)

-Apple Partition Map radio button under Options...

”Install MAC OS 9 Disk Drivers” checked as well

Also used scsi2sd-util to set the adapter to recognize as a 32GB drive instead of 2GB.

When it completed I popped it back into my 6100 (with Sonnet G3). OS 8.1 had no issues working with and booting from it. :)
