Run Application from Apple Menu in System 6

I've always wondered if there's something like a desk accessory you could add to the Apple menu in System 6 (or earlier for that matter) that when opened will just run a different application and close itself, giving functionality similar to adding aliases to the Apple Menu folder in System 7. I primarily want this so that I can run System Picker from the Apple menu, to more easily change OSs. It doesn't seem like it'd be too hard to make myself with something like Think C. But if there was a dedicated program to do this that wouldn't require rewriting it every time, that'd be handy and more useful.

It might be functionally easier to write something to add an extra menu after the Special menu instead of modifying the Apple menu. I know nothing about this, but I have seen many utilities that add their own menu, so I would assume this would be more doable.

On Cue - Macintosh Garden

"...the ultimate application and document launching utility..." (v1.3) In System 6.0.8 and earlier, simply copy the "On Cue" file into the System Folder and restart the Macintosh. This will enable the menu from then on. See Also: Apollo, HandOff II, On Cue II Utilities

I've used Hand-OFF II since 1993 on my machines... Like it a lot. Moreso than AliasMenu, since it doesn't cause your hard drive to get full with aliases to various programs in a folder. It even works under 9.2.2 if you turn off the SuperMenu extension, which messes up the Apple menu on that version.
