I'm trying to get a HyperDrive 20 to work. The drive sits in a Mac Plus and seems to physically dead, as the logic board on the drive is working, but the drive doesn't spin up. I downloaded the HyperDrive Driver v3r2 from Mac Driver Museum, but an attempt to access the drive using the DA "Drawers" results in an error: "The hard disk will not realign. Please turn it off, then on again. If the problem persists, please contact your HyperDrive dealer".
There's no HyperDrive dealer around and at the moment I don't want to repair the drive by "freezing", "cooking" or "tapping it with a little hammer", so I decided to find an replacement and managed to get a Miniscribe 8425. That's exactly the drive needed, only the firmware is different. With this drive connected, there is progress. When using "Drawers" now I get the following error: "The drive is not initialized properly. Please run the manager."
As the "manager" is not included in Hyperdrive Driver v3r2, I'm in need for the complete Software. The manual refers to "Hyperdrive System Software Disk 1 + 2".
There was also a special Software when having problems with the Hyperdrive called Hypertools (someone posted this on info-mac in 1986, it's in the info-mac archive).
Can anybody provide the software mentioned above?
Thanks
Carlo
