Radeon 9250 now working on MacOS 7.6.1

I was jealous of the MacOS 9 users having access to the Radeon 9250, and love an excuse to do something silly and educational. So, I hacked up Radeon 9250 drivers that work on 7.6.1!

As far as I know, this is the only way to get resolutions bigger than 1920x1200 on older system software like 7.6 or 8.1

If anyone can test this under 7.5.5 (or even 7.1.2 o_O) I'd love to hear about your experiences!

Only flashed cards; there was never a 9250 Mac Edition

There was a Radeon 9200 Mac Edition PCI card, which I don't think this will support. It could probably be made to work using the same driver hacks with a slightly different PCI ID. 👀

Oh this looks like fun! Ill have to play with this at some point

as an aside on the whole "9250" thing not all Radeon 9200 Mac Editions are identical there where at least 2 different versions, with different Device ID's, I know I own both variants and had a bit of a run around with them until I looked closely and saw the different device ID's :)

so there is technically a 9250 Mac Edition its just not labeled as such :) see the bottom of this post

Very nice... if only someone could get Radeon 9600 cards (or any R300 card for that matter) working with full acceleration and driver support in Mac OS 9. Geforce4 Ti 4600 GPUs are a real pain to find. ;_;
