Hi all,
Is there any Rhapsody freak around here? I'm having a very specific problem with Rhapsody DR1, and it's getting on my nerves.
I installed it on my PowerMac 9600 without an issue. For the record, the 9600 has a G3/275 processor card, 704 MB of Ram, a 1 GB and a 10 GB SCSI disks on the internal bus, and a 80 GB IDE disk connected with an Acard 6280M PCI card.
The installation went flawlessly. I configured the network and managed to transfer files through FTP to and from other machines. I rebooted several times, shut the 9600 down overnight and rebooted fine on Rhapsody the following day.
BUT then I switched back to OS 9 (caps lock down at boot time). And when I rebooted in Rhapsody, no matter what it got stuck on the Welcome screen at the beginning of the boot process, with the spinning beachball spinning really slowly, and then not spinning at all. I tried several times and reinstalled Rhapsody twice, and got the same result each time, on the first reboot after switching back and forth to OS 9. I thought my disk was shot… But I tried with two other old but known good disks, and got the same result each time.
Now, it's not a vital issue… But my goal is to ultimately have my 9600 tell the history of Mac OS X by running Rhapsody DR11 and DR2, Mac OS X Server, the Mac OS X DPs and Public Beta.
Does anybody have a clue of what's going wrong?
