osgeld gave me his powermac 8500 and a friend is going to use it for working on classilla and testing it on actual hardware, but we had another idea i noticed it has video in/video outports and I heard that other older macs made good live video editing and anybody that has ever done video hates post editing. My friend and I were wanting to make a quick little video and I was wondering what was possible (if it is) with this machine to do editing and what kind it can (obviously what software needed) all im really looking to do is add logos, some basic text n such and maybe for post cut some parts and edit angels.

you might want to try actually recording something on it first, with 7.5 it seemed to work, 8.0 it would instalock the second record was pushed, and I have not tried it with 9.0.4 which was installed on it when I gave it to you

Oh and turn off vm, it does not like vm when recording

I'll give it a shot with the 9.0.4 and see what happens, if it doesn't then I'll down grade to 7.x and no thanks on the proc I was just wanting it to do some live editing as opposed to post editing, if I gotta do post I might as well do it on my speedy system.
