PowerMac 6100 - CD Audio Cable Adaptor?

I have a PowerMac 6100 that I want to add a CD Burner to, it doesn't seem to read disks with it in, and I thought MAYBE since the cable on the SCSI CD-R drive was different (Standard for other Macs) than the odd one on the 6100 I need some sort of adapter or cable?

Would that cause an issue, the drive sounds good and doesn't appear to be bad it spins the cds but won't read anything (unless I am missing a driver?)

I tried that acutally the the ones on the newer one are much smaller then the ones on the original one from the 6100. And still not sure if that would even cause it not to read anything from it since its only Audio... But who knows

Missing the audio cable should absolutely not cause a failure to read disks. I have run a 61xx without that cable in the past. I suggest you direct your troubleshooting efforts elsewhere.

i think if you force it , it should go on, I'm sure pin to pin is the same,
This is literally the worst advice ever. Please, don't anyone ever do this.
