Powerbook 180 cursor and nothing else

Got my 180 today, very cheap with a lot of stuff in a bag, coincidentally came from a teacher at my old school.

It just has a movable cursor and a warping noise like a sci-fi teleporter. A working floppy bootdisk did nothing. Got spare parts for it though.

Will upload pictures once I open it and get off my phone which refuses to upload photos 90% of the time.

Insides look fine, this happens after a new HDD, no RAM expansion module and a clean of the PCB near the zener diode area. Happens with or without 145B bootdisk or any other bootdisk (only tried 7.1 disks).

Managed to get the system enabler file to a floppy, then to the LC to extract, then back to the PC to compile a 7.1 disk. Will try once its written. I should learn how to use mini vmac.

Thanks for the help, its great to have my first working 68k laptop. I will check if the RAM module was the problem tomorrow. I hope it works, not sure why 4 chips have a shiny surface.
