My Mac 128k seems to have died!

For the last few months or so, I've been having issues with my Mac 128k. For a while, when the system was powered on nothing was displayed on the screen. When a floppy was inserted, you could here the machine booting.

Today I turned it on, and to my surprise the screen worked- booted up and everything. I come back to it an hour later and the only thing I see on the screen is a white line in the middle. When a disk is inserted the computer still chimes and boots. Can I assume the problem is a dead analog board?

Can I take a mac Plus analog board and put it in there?

I'm with Tom Lee. Try to fix it first. If you aren't used to these types of repairs and want to keep using it while you get up to speed, the answer to your last question is: yes, you can replace it with an analogue board from a Plus. But definitely fix the old board, please just don't throw it out.

FYI, you can also use an SE analogue board for use in the 128K-Plus as well. I haven't tried a Classic board yet, though theoretically, it should work as well, with a similarly modified logicboard cable.

Any possibility you could Flickrize some photos of your analog board for us (both sides)? It's possible we may be able to spot something you don't. Then once you take photos, you can try out Tom's suggestion, as that will most likely solve your problem.
