Macintosh Garden appears to be down

I wanted to download CodeWarrior, so I went to Macintosh Garden, but I'm left with a "Problem loading page". When I ping it, it doesn't respond.

It was down for a few days this past week, up again for a couple of days, and down again today.

I don't know what's going on there.

Your problem might be in stale HSTS. Mac Garden decided on HTTPS and added stapling (so you always get the secure version) but reneged, so browsers will try to always use the (broken) HTTPS version.

I think this is a new issue. My https problem was fixed a long time ago, but I too had trouble connecting earlier this week, connected successfully a day or two ago, and now it's down again. Maybe they're doing server upgrades or something.

I can't connect to the link (is it truncated?), but thank you for the update! Good to know there's an explanation.

Ah, thank you for that site, it will be good to be able to check it when something seems to be going on with the main Garden site.

Yeah...I just spent about 4 hours in the 'Utilities' section grabbing a bunch of stuff I'd hate to disappear if the site ever went down completely. I remember I cried my eyes out when Home of the Underdogs (or whatever it was called) ceased to exist. Then it reemerged and I've clearly got complacent again. We need a few solid mirrors of the site!

Been there, done that!  Especially with storage being so cheap now (1TB drives for $40!) I've found it's not worth my time to delete thing I think I don't need "to save storage space", since sites I think will be around for forever, like Macintosh Garden and the Home of the Underdogs, can disappear in a pinch and because they're so big it's hard to properly mirror them.  HoTU  was the place to go for DOS abandonware for the longest time but when they first started having issues I did like you and grabbed what I thought I would want/need and burned some CDs since at that point HDs weren't nearly as cheap.
