Macintosh 128K used to boot

Hope someone can help.

I acquired 2 new 128K macintosh computers and I boot them both up with an external floppy drive and they booted up just fine without anything plugged in

When I plugged the moue and keyboard in it now doesn't boot with the boot disk . The same thing happened to the other computer as well. So I removed the mouse and booted it up again but it still doesn't work. It reads the disk and then shoots it back out for some reason? The same issue happens on the other computer. It seems as though something happened when I plugged the mouse in.

Did you plug in the mouse/keyboard with the computer switched off?

Which mouse do you have? There’s only one official one compatible.

Probably not an issue with the kb or mouse.
Likely an issue with the disk, if this is dirty, contamination can stain the head and avoid the boot process.

Thanks for all your replies, I got it to work with a different boot disk. Seems the boot disk I was using wasn't good.
