Mac IIci 5.25 drives?

I want to download Apple II disk images from the internet and use them on my IIe. I have a Mac IIci.

I am guessing I can put the image files on the IIci and put them on a 5.25 disc for use in the IIe, but which drive to I need to find for the IIci in 5.25?

There is no Apple 5.25" drive that will work on a IIci. See http://www.vintagemacworld.com/drives.html.

You'll need to download the images in binary format and transfer them over a serial cable to the Apple IIe. You can use a modern Mac or PC with a serial port to do this. You probably need a Super Serial card in the IIe too.

The only way to write 5.25" disk images in a Mac requires an LC family model with the IIe Workstation card.

or you can use the cassette audio port on the IIe and the PCs sound card. theres a freeware app floating on the web that will load a BASIC bootloader via the audio card to the IIe via sound port. this will load a disk utility app that will let you format, read, write and retrieve files to be written to floppy disks. if I am not mistaking, you can send the disk images via cassette port to be written to the disk with that program as well. once its loaded up in the IIe.
