Mac Classic 1.44mb Drive Issue - Video Attached

Hi All,
I've been scouring the internet trying to find a resolution for this.

FDD will not read floppy's only wants to inititalise them, the drive does not do a whole lot before ejecting the disc and saying the process failed.

There has to be someone who has seen this, or can maybe point me in the right direction.

Logic Board & Analogue Board have been recapped, that being said the issue was there prior.
Gear has been replaced in eject mechanism.
Moving parts relubricated.

Disk in the video is a Verbatim 2HD, brand new from unopened packet.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
Jase

Weird that after the insertion of the disk, the heads do not move back and forth to align with track 0.
It's hard to tell, the initialization is a blind process, and the validation checks/reads if it was performed by reading back.
I'd check the pressure on the heads, there is a small spring in the back of the moving arm with different positions to force it down or less.

Are known working disks recognised and opened on the desktop?

Probably not an issue with the floppy drive, the drive should try to read, not to format unless required by the system.

Maybe a bad Swim

I don't have a known working disc, I will look at buying something cheap off eBay to give it a test.
