If you aren't comfortable with desoldering and resoldering the chips yourself, You could send it off to Dosdude1 for repair. He offers a repair service.

@Bolle - is there anyone closer to Germany than DosDude1? Anyone you know of do that sort of thing as a service?

Hi, try getting a Sawtooth/Gigabite G4 CPU card, and you can use its cache chips to replace the ones in your Lombard. I don't think you'll find the new chips these days.

Any IC replacement service can do it for you.
