L2 cache enabler help for G4 upgrade

I got hold of a G4/400 from a Yikes! G4 which I’ve installed in my Beige G3. Works great under OS 9, but I can’t get the L2 cache enabled under Mac OS X 10.4.11. CPU Director 2.3b6 fails to install, and XPostFacto’s L2 cache option causes the Mac to hang on boot.

What is the correct software to use?

Have you done the firmware G4 patch?

That applies to the Blue and White G3, not the Beige G3.
