iMac G3 resolutions

Hi,

I was hoping someone with an iMac G3 could tell me if running the display at 640x480 produces a blurry image. I think the native res is 800x600 but 640x480 can be displayed... I am just not sure at what quality. I realize it might be subjective. Any input would be appreciated.

thanks!

Basically, you'll get bigger pixels.  If the pixellation bothers you, stand further back  ;)  In other words, it will be acceptable quality if you have a good enough reason to want it - so yes, subjective.

The native resolution is 800x600 but it also supports 640x480 and 1024x768 just fine. To be honest 640x480 looks the best for OS 9, as the higher resolutions don't have the higher refresh rates and are hard on the eyes. (To me)

Thanks markyb and Rick! Yeah, I know it's subjective but that's real helpful. Some games (old ones :) and stuff run at 640x480, so knowing it wouldn't be awful is real helpful. My eyes aren't great so it probably wouldn't matter. There's a free iMac near me and I was looking for a reason to go get it.

:)
