IIsi Randomly Dying

Okay so the power supply was working before I recapped it. Then I recapped it and it was working again until it wasn't. Sometimes it wouldn't boot up. Pressing the power button would do nothing. Then when it does boot up it will work for a bit but then switch off. I used the console5 recap kit and I know that some of the caps weren't perfect replacements but I also know that a cap does not have to be the same values to work. Does this fault point to anything else perhaps? is there something on the logic board that could cause these problems?

tldr: IIsi sometimes doesn't turn on and when it does it will shut off shortly and then stop turning on. PSU and Logic Board have been recapped

did you recap the little daughterboard on the psu?
did you clean the gunk off said little daughterboard (and the rest of the PSU) ?

make sure you've put the right caps in the right spots, sometimes substituting other values can cause problems. and yeah i'd check the daughterboard, that has a couple of SMD caps that should be replaced. the IIsi notoriously has a very failure prone PSU and unfortunately the caps on those seem to love leaking their guts out and destroying whatever is in their path. hopefully the damage is not too severe, but i wouldn't get your hopes up.

did you recap the little daughterboard on the psu?
did you clean the gunk off said little daughterboard (and the rest of the PSU) ?

I recapped the daughter board and cleaned it as well as I can (tooth brush and IPA) but the caps did not leak. None of the caps had leaked on the daughter board or the main board..

Yeah, I might go back through and double check that all the values are right, and then replace whichever caps aren't exact. Perhaps Console5 made an error. As for the daughter board and damage, none of the caps on either the daughter board or main board had leaked. That being said I still scrubbed the daughter board as best as I can.

Update: I just learned about connecting pin 9 and 10 on the power supply to check if it is working and I heard the click. So I am pretty sure that rules out it being a fault with the power supply
Update 2: I tested the chip that receives the button presses and while the machine is off it holds at 4V and when I press the power button it dips to 0. I also scrubbed the logic board again and when I reassembled everything and plugged in the cable, it came on. I am currently running it now to see if it will shut off. But I think that it turning off immediately when connected to power might be another clue. In another post someone had to replace their crystal. Would a bad crystal cause intermittent functionality or would it either be an all or nothing case?
