Yeah true! I am trying to get two iici’s going. Same kind of issue, power area. One board is beautiful. It did have cap goo but cleaned everything up nicely. Got it to turn on once but nothing now. So another work in progress!

It's the same kind of thing, very similar startup circuit to the IIcx. See the IIci schematic here:

Replacing the logic ICs (HC132) is often a place to start. But the resistors/diodes in there can be bad, or there can be broken traces.
