well fall semester starts tomorrow and i wanted to get rid of some junk, so i headed down to the electronic recycling depot to drop off an old printer and a few cellphones.

the building is just this big warehouse building that had nobody in it, so i wandered in, dropped my stuff off, and then began to look around. the floor was covered in old computers. Tecras, Satelites, Gossamers, iMacs, Dells, the works.

I left most of it, i was tempted by one of the micro-atx dell's but they had scavenged the CPU, tray-CD and floppy drive form it, so i figured nah. i was tempted by an ancient Toshiba T2400 but i already have two and not enough time to mess with either.

But something did catch my eye, and that was an Apple II Plus with an Apple Monitor III. I instantly nabbed those and brought them home.

They both work, but the Apple II came with a Language Card, which prevents the machine from booting, and a Videx card, which also prevents boot. the Super Serial and Disk II interface cards do not prevent boot, so i'm assuming they work, but i have nothing to actually use with either.

anybody near knoxville have some Apple II software and drives? :D

Yeah i've always liked the 386/486 toshiba laptops, and there were two or three of them there. i decided not to take them as they were not in the best shape and smelled like they had lived in a household of heavy smokers.
