I apologize.

You guys have recently brought up this old thread of mine.

http://68kmla.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5447

It embarrasses me so much, looking back at it. When I wrote that thread, I was new to the world of computers. If I had seen that video for the first time today, I would simply have commented on the vulgarity of the guy's method of opening a Mac.

I would like to apologize to anyone I may have offended, and I would like to assert that when I wrote that thread, I had no idea what I was talking about. :)

On the other hand, though, there were a few negative comments on there that I don't appreciate too much. I was a newbie at the time, and the way I see it, tolerance and patience are infinitely favorable to rudeness. I understand that I may have offended some people, and again, I truly do apologize for that. But I had no idea that opening a Mac could be safe if you knew what you were doing. I thought that the dangers outweighed the benefits.

So please, before posting a rude comment, please consider:

1) how much the thread starter actually knew about the topic vs. how much he thought he knew,

2) whether your rude comment will improve the person's knowledge or is just rude for the sake of rudeness.

We all started out as computer newbies. But, over time, our knowledge increases. I have learned a substantial amount since the time that I posted that thread. And at one point in time, all of you knew just as much as I did when I wrote that post. Please remember that.

This is the internet. People can say whatever they want, that is kind of the point.

And since it clearly bothered you so much I'm going to point and laugh.

lol.

And your avatar seems to emphasize this well. :p

Personally, I saw it as a simple misunderstanding that went awry. I'm moving on, as there's nothing to see here... ;)
