Wow nice haul, what software came with it and what version do the dongles cover? Avid has a utility called dongle dumper that tells you what each dongle is for.

I think it is media composer 6.5 and 7 something. The versions are written on the dongles. Just going to keep the nubus stuff. Thought I could put it into

the Quadra 950 but not sure. The AMP case is large.

You should be able to stuff the Nubus ones into a 950 with a PPC 100 upgrade card (thats where I stuck my ABVB AVID into). You need the PPC, SCSI, ABVB, DSP, Audio card so thats all 5 slots. Avid 6.5 is PPC only. I should have some PDF docs if you need help.

PM me if you are ditching the PCI cards.

How the devil do folks here get epic hauls like that? I'd love to just get boxes that I can rummage in at my leisure =) That would be awesome!

Congrats on a great haul like that!!! You'll have months and months of fun, until your next haul!

You basically have to be involved in recycling, thats where quite a bit comes from. One persons treasure is somebody elses old useless junk.

Hello! I should have been here a LONG time ago, since I have been building my collection of Apples since 85 or so....

I also have an AMP but I was able to get it completely up and functioning when I finally acquired a real board set (firmwared to the system key file) as well as the system key for that board set and a real Avid firmwared hd. This is for Media Composer 2.5. Works great with the nubus cards that his guy has.

I also have a vast array of pretty much all the vintage Nubus Digidesign Protools and that era audio hardware and software and the auths to use them from lot's of places, mostly Ebay purchases though over the years.

What interests me now, is that I am wondering if the guy above OR ANYONE has that software on the ZIPS. I would LOVE to find any version of old Avid Media Composer or Film Composer.. Especially the 6.5.3 or even 7.1 PCI. I have a dongle for a PCI system like above BUT alas the copy of 6.5.3 nubus a fellow net user made for me about 5 years was made iso9660 and he whacked the resource fork of the first installer file. So now I have lot's of hardware but no way to get a nubus or pci version of dongle dumper since I can't even get help from Avid at all on this old gear even with a legit dongle.

Any chance you have that software still around and not pitched? I'm MORE THAN WILLING to share my expertise on the Nubus rig you have that matches mine as well as anything else... I also have 2 dongles and the hardware for the REALLY REALLY old Media Suite pro 2.x and 3.x for NUBUS and 68k mac. Those are in my Q950's however.

So any luck?

BuMP.

Well I stumbled across this post by sheer accident but it appears that everything listed as well as the systems (9600's, 950's, and the AMP) I became the owner of several months back (or at least I can say I might of as I have everything mentioned on that list).

The only exception is the actual AMP box which after removing the NuBus extender board from I recycled because it was missing its top cover and front bezels....and then today I found the bezels mized in with a box of floppy disks. Well now I know that was a stupid idea. :(

As for the whereabouts of the software (again, if this is the stuff I think it is), it's currently mixed among some 2000+ floppy disks. A lot of sorting still needs to be performed.
