If the side panel off, I would be very happy to have exact height of the letters. Millimetres is fine.
The width would be good but since Helvetica Black is a good enough fit, the width is not so important.

Also, I have a tape that is 1 chain long, divided into yards and links. I should have loaned you that to take the measurements for our American friends.

US standard imperial metric freedom inches are the same as British inches aren't they? They seem to use different values for everything else like gallons and pounds.

An ounce is an ounce, but a pint and a gallon are certainly NOT the same. There are, however, 8 pints in each of the latter. (US or UK gallon)

I think so, but if you need one Cup of something you must first define it as a solid or liquid. The measurement is the same but not the instrument >_<

I would be happy to use the metric system and cook by weight but it'll never become the standard here; I doubt it would have a chance to become the standard for generations anyway. It sure made Chemistry class a lot easier.

(Weird fact, lots of fruit is still sold wholesale in bushels, but given as a weight, it's why the 'standard' boxes vary between types of fruit between like, ~10kg, 12kg, 15kg etc)

Yes, but consistently.
So, if there were 12 inches to a foot, twelve feet to a yard, twelve yards to a chain and so on.
Or 60 inches to a foot, 60 feet to a yard, 60 yards to a chain and so on.

While we are talking about units, my favourite unit is the Helen (H), which is the amount beauty one must have to have thousand ships launched to save you. A person 43 milliHelens in beauty has the amount of beauty required to have 43 ships launched to save said person.

Since we're apparently inventing units now, here's a good one: the Mac.

A Mac is the base amount of Macs one has, with 1 Mac representing one thousandth of a machine because it's my unit, and I can arbitrarily make it mean whatever I want it to mean.

Therefore, most collections will probably be measured in kiloMacs, which is 1,000 Macs (1,000 Mac units = one Macintosh computer)

My collection, therefore, is approximately 63.75 kiloMacs.

Confusing enough?

I see your kilomacs and raise you to 'Percentage of Dwelling Left Unfilled by Macs'.

Since we all live in houses/apartments/palaces (see here) of varying sizes, only so much Mac-related stuff (can one have enough SCSI cables?) as well as actual Macs into it. Spouses, partners and/or parents tend to have views on the matter too.

So, the 'Percentage of Dwelling Left Unfilled by Macs' is simply an indication of what percentage of the space where you may store your cabley-goodness may still be filled. Mine is so low that I have Macs standing on the floor on my hone-office. The recent flood of iBook-stuff from the Geneva-collector hasn't helped much either.
