I have some games that I would like to extract the app icon from. How can I do this? Can it be done with Resedit? If so, how?

ResEdit -> ICON Resource. Also in the PICT Resources. They are there...

But, if they are from games, they happened to be copyrighted images being inside copyrighted software. Just saying.

The icon resources are usually named ic14, ic18, ICN#, ics#, ics4, and ics8.  They're occasionally in cicn or PICT.

Rezilla is a resource editor that will run on OS X Intel. Also, GraphicConverter (at least older versions) can open any file with a resource fork and display/export the PICT and icon resources.

If you have a pre OS X machine, you can Get Info about the app, select the icon in the upper left corner and command-C copy it, then paste it into your image-editor of choice.
