End of the line for my Quicksilver

My quicksilver just got replaced by a pentium 4 as my main system (yeah I'm modern). Since I also own a cube (it was my dad and I'm keeping it for nostalgic/recipe computer in the kitchen) I was thinking of transplanting some parts. Ram,GFX card and HD. And I was thinking is it possible to transplant the processor? SInce they are on a daughter card? Also would the cube need a fan if it was possible to install the Ati Radeon Pro 9000 and processor in there?

Ram should work, hard drive should work, video card might work with minimal modding to plate. As for the processor that's a big negatory ghost rider. The cube uses a lower power CPU. You could use up to a dual 500 unless you get a new VRM and add a fan, then the upgrades kick in and come with those from 550 mhz to 1.8 ghz.

As others have mentioned RAM, HD will be fine, the graphics card will not fit unless you relocate the VRM. You need a fan with any upgrade. The CPU probably won't fit, but check the dimensions and specifications to see if it compares to a Cube specific upgrade.

Nobody is as perfect as you are.

Settle down, it was a joke. Although you never know. Maybe his mother is a highly modified 1924 Model T and he looks just like a young Kurt Russel.
