DVD version of Tiger for G5 install?

I want to put Tiger on my G5 but so far the only version I've found is a 4-CD version, which I want no part of.

Was there no DVD version of the Tiger install disk? Seems kind of weird that Apple wouldn't make one when the G5 was perfectly capable of handling DVDs, but I can't find it anywhere...

When I went on the garden, I found a 4-CD version of Tiger and a DVD of the 10.4.6 update, no DVD version of 10.4.0. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

I use the 4 CD set, its not that bad. Years ago I downloaded a 10.4.x DVD image but I could never boot from it. I do have a couple Legit 10.5 DVD's.

Well I already downloaded the 10.4.6 image so I'll be one step ahead of the game when I finish the CD installs at least.

How hard did you look? Did you go anywhere other than that one-stop-shop?

If you use trackerless BitTorrent, then consider the following. I do not vouch for these. I would try these if I were in your shoes.

Wish I'd seen that last night, I already made a set of install CDs.

Also, does anyone know of a software for Windows that burns .dmg files besides PowerISO? My usual go-to (ImgBurn) doesn't.

I'm pretty sure that 10.4.6 DVD is a full installer, not just an update. I have original DVDs of both 10.4.0 and 10.4.6 I can upload if it's not.

I'm thinking of using the CDs to put 10.4.0 on there and then using a flash drive to bring over the DMG files, since OSX can burn them natively.

I was able up update Tiger 10.4 to 10.4.11 just using check for updates...the servers are still active...

Well I ended up using the flash drive to bring over the DMGs, though my 10.4.6 DMG didn't install the 10.4.6 update. The 10.4.11 DMG successfully upgraded the G5 to 10.4.11 though.

I didn't think to make a 10.4.11 DVD with my G5...ah well, I could always make one with my newly acquired Indigo iMac DV.
