Could we add a Linux/Unix forum?

I like Debian, if only for the fact that there are variants of it for virtually every computing platform that is capable of running Linux so there probably aren't many cross compatibility issues if you have a wide variety of architectures in your home.
I think you made a typo on the distro name. That's spelled N-e-t-B-S-D. }:)

Doesn't say anything about NetBSD here. It just says Debian GNU Linux

http://www.debian.org/

There is a NetBSD page, though

http://www.debian.org/ports/netbsd/

Doesn't look like the same thing to me.

NetBSD runs a lot better on 68k Macs with 36MB or less of RAM. Linux is a real memory hog on the 68k Mac. When I installed it on a Quadra with 20MB, it was swap city. When I installed NetBSD it cruised until I started compiling stuff. Then it stuck its tongue out at me and said, "I don't think so." I replied with, "Bah! Wrong answer!" Then I went back to Mac OS -- System 7.5.3 to be precise.

If you wanna run a *nix on a 950 or a IIfx (other than A/UX) your only choice is Debian. Apparently they have the ADB port issues pretty much worked out now. So I think I'm gonna give that a try.

That was a little joke, my friend. :) NetBSD's slogan is "Of course it runs NetBSD!" Debian does a good job, but AFAIK NetBSD is still the Unix king of platform support.
