Compact Mac Sticky?

One must also consider that this site is indexed well by Google. Search for "SE/30 boot problems" or "SE/30 problems" and you will spot 68kMLA in the first 10 search results.
The fact remains that we have a CRT sticky now, even though I see more questions about SE/30 boot problems here than I ever did for CRTs. That's not to say we should not have the CRT thread a sticky. Rather, it is evidence we need a sticky for SE/30 boot problem info, such as is contained in this thread.

The question now becomes, how to we garner the attention of ~tl to make this a sticky?
JDW has an excellent point -- the frequency with which this question arises certainly merits a sticky. The "capacitor problem" is a common affliction, and only likely to become more so as these machines age.

Might I suggest a page on the 68kMLA Wiki? It would be an easier thing to keep up to date than a forum thread, where you've got to wade through the discussion to get to the information.

Superficially off topic, but nonetheless closely allied, is the number of questions about reviving PBs of the '100 series', and to a lesser extent, the '500 series'. Searches using those two search phrases will turn up plenty in these forums, but the questions are still asked anew, time and again. Without detracting from the inputs of those who have contributed to a 68KMLA Wiki, it is also noticeable that a discussion of quite some time ago seems to have borne little fruit in the way of heading off continued questions about the same problems/interests.

Not the least reason for the undesirability of repeated answers to the same question is the danger that subtle, let alone gross, misinformation may creep into the pool of knowledge in these pages because of differences between the repetitions. Misinformation can embrace failure to use common (meaning like) terms, mistaken emphases, simple misunderstandings, incomplete knowledge about overall or detailed system processes, and you-name-it besides. From this point of view there is much to commend stickies ahead of a people's encyclopædia wherein everyone is an editor and no-one is an owner/author of a contribution.
