Ok I know I have found the information on card before but all my searches are coming up empty. On the card it's listed as BD-064 Rev A, can someone tell me the manufacturer/model so I can find a driver?

Thanks in advance.

comm slot ethernet should be an Apple card, drivers should install right from install media for any OS for the machine in question.  Only apple driver that I have had issue to date is I piut a PCI apple ethernet card in a TAM and it would not install as the 6400/6500 boards are freaks that way and apparently always install comm slot not PCI drivers for ethernet.  I had to extract the extention from the 8.1 disc and put in the correct place then it worked as it should.

I'll have to do some more checking, I didn't see anything like an apple part number on it and it's certainly not being seen by my clean 7.6.1 install.

If you can post a picture of the card, maybe someone will recognise it. The text posted doesn't ring any bells for me. Also, what machine does it fit? (to figure out if it's comm slot or comm slot II)

I'll have to snap pictures of it tomorrow when I go to work. It's in my 5400/180 I just picked up.

And the actual Ethernet chip is a DEC but can't remember the number.

So I pulled the card out to take pictures but once I did I was able to read another part number that was on the back plate near the actual Ethernet port, it was: P701-001. After some googling found out that it is a Sonic Systems card. Drivers for it were available on vintageapple.org

And I now have working Ethernet.

Farallon also made Comm Slot cards, as did maybe a few others. And I seem to recall seeing SONIC chipsets on Farallon cards of various types...
