the 550 analog board wont directly fit in the CC. its too wide and needs modded.
Are you talking about the physical modification because it’s too wide or additional modifications to the actual circuitry? I get that it is too wide.the 550 analog board wont directly fit in the CC. its too wide and needs modded.
What changes need to be done to the motherboard? Sorry if I'm getting confused. I know I have to cut down the AB from the 550 to fit in the smaller CC case.i meant the motherboard. The analog board must be cut short to fit in place.
I have repaired 3 CC Logic Boards, 1 Macintosh TV LB, and 1 LC 520 & 1 Performa 550 LB.Is there a ‘master’ list of components and steps for performing this upgrade?
I’ve found several ‘guides’ (including this one) which all refer to each other, and have missing or contradictory component lists. I’m looking for something like:
1. Get these tools
2. Source these components
3. Clean the board with this solvent
4. Look for these defects (or trouble spots)
5. Follow these steps
I’m attempting to repair a color classic and I don’t have any spare boards if something goes wrong. I’d normally be glad to go through decades of comments on these threads, but I’m in a bit of a time crunch and this clearly has been successful many hundreds of times.
Does such a thing exist?
The Macintosh TV issue was that, though I fit in the CC, the Analog Video board was not powerful enough to provide power to everything. I popped it into a the Performa 550 and booted up perfectly.Okay I wash the boards in the dishwasher. Still no boot sound on the CC logic board and the Macintosh TV Board still doesn’t see the hard drive. Anyone know where I can get schematics?
