If anybody is in for exchanging CW 7 and earlier for a working copy of CW 8.3, I would be glad.

I want to use something else then MPW for a little 68k project.

Thanks,

Alex

I appreciate anybody that can provide me CW 7 Pro

I want to compile a simple PDF viewer for 68k CPUs as a pilot project.

I'd look for a hotline server or something.

From what I understand, straight out Warez requests are a no-no here.

Try MSJ.

FYI - Someone posted on comp.sys.mac.codewarrior saying CW 6.0 was the last version that supported 68K code generation.

EDIT - Someone else mentioned that the 68K plug-ins could be manually installed on CW 7.0. I guess you knew that.

Has anybody dared to ask Freescale Semiconductor for it? Or permission to make it available for download?

From what I hear, Freescale Semiconductor owns the rights to Codewarrior. The only remaining versions that they support are the versions that they're giving away for free. They might be willing to make the older versions available for free as well, with the caveat that they will provide no support for it, no guarantee as to its fitness for any use, and that they assume no liability for any consequential or inconsequential damages arising from your use of it -- whatever restrictions they choose to impose. Don't know if they would allow you to do that, but the worst they can do is say no. So why not just send them a letter or something and ask?

I'd be interested in this, only because I've heard that older versions of MPW shipped with the older versions of CW.

I want a version of MPW that'll run under 6.x. If someone has a version of CW that has this version of MPW, I'd happily buy it from them.

Unfortunately this is the message I received from Freescale.

I am still looking for CW Pro 5, 6 & 7

Hello,

Unfortunately, those products were discontinued long ago and will not be

made available in the future.

Cheers,

I have CW Pro 2. Let me check it when I got home.

Like I said, the worst they could have done was said no. At least they didn't say no. Not literally anyway.

When I asked them for permission to pirate Codewarrior, they said to ask someone else. I'll post their reply if you'd like.

You need MPW version 3.2 for System 6, and the version that shipped with Code Warrior was later. Also, when talking about Code Warrior you need to be careful about version numbers, since they started at 1, went up to about 10, then started at 1 again! :)

Heh! That could be confusing for sure!

How about a version that would run under 7.0.1 or 7.1? I'm really just trying to avoid running 7.5 if possible.
