It's my BeOS machine since it seems to be the best possible use of the second processor I upgraded it to an 8MB ixMicro TwinTurbo the other week so that I can do millions of colours at the native resolution of my LCD.

This looks interesting, I'll investigate tomorrow I grabbed the archive of uploaded files so I could work out what was there. Was it a three track disk? Or two?

Only a single hfs track, unusual for BeOS software.

You can run apps in direct fullscreen mode with that ixMicro card I think, like Doom for example.
Not the case with a Mach64, from the quick tests I did some time ago.

I had exceptional graphics card luck when I went looking a while back...


I also have the 12" ixMicro and the other supported Matrox card. I basically have every supported card!

Can I be really cheeky, could you make a bin cue, or iso image (if it is a single track), of the original media. I've spent the last hour trying to make a compatible CD from the files you shared, but if I make a DOS compatible CD it truncates file names, and if I make a Linux / Windows CD BeOS shows the partition as empty. I've even done 3 custom setups with various extensions for ISO/juliet/rock ridge included and each of them just show as no files in BeOS... I even tried making a hfs iso image on a mac, but some of the file names are incompatible or something and it threw an error when trying to copy the files over.

I'd really rather make a mountable disk than move the compressed files over.

It really is worth making a perfect image of any CD because it just means someone can just slap it onto a disk with confidence, from any operating system.

Corum III is x86 and PPC compatible, I always forget, contrary to other official retail games for BeOS like Civ CTP and Hopkins FBI.

My retro corner isn't networked usually sadly. I usually just write a CD if I want to keep the software anyway, and use my external CD Drive that supports CDRWs if I'm experimenting getting something working like a custom bootable disk.

I even tried moving the files onto my mac partition (Mac OS could read the CD), but BeOS crashes when I mount a mac HFS partition for some reason.

Feels like tomorrow we'll have quadrupled the amount of software available for PPC BeOS. There isn't much out there.

If you don't have a standard method of making bin / cue images, ImgBurn for Windows does it fairly easily.

ah, no, we're very normal and ended up compiling cdrdao and using that to produce bin/cues for our Gobe 2.0 disc (it does not say 2.0.1 on it, just 2.0) and both discs of Corum III.

The second disc of Corum III is all audio.

We'll upload them all to archive.org later tonight.

I'm just copying the various images over to Macintosh Garden (I mean come on, it is software that runs on a Mac... it sort of fits!) to make sure there is redundancy online, just in case the book publishers win and take down archive.org. Hope nobody minds.
