When things work out the way I hope I soon will have an second compact Mac, an SE30 in good working order. I want to equip this machine with an BlueSCSI and want to use it as some sort of bridge machine for my other compact Mac. I learned that a simple Mini DIN can be used build a machine to machine network. The problem as it turns out those old Mini DIN printer or modem cables are some sort of unobtainium. As one can use a S-Video cable to replace a missing ADB cable I came to the idea that probably a still to buy cable with Mini DIN 8 pin exists? Soldering a proper cable by myself is out of my technical abilities, regular sized DIN is somewhat okay, but Mini DIN no way. :-O

Sorry, I forgot to add that I'm located in Europe, so my order options are somewhat limited when taking customs and shipping costs into account.

My intention of this post was that there is maybe such a cable used for a different machine/product which can be repurposed as a serial cable for vintage Macs.

To bring this thread to an end I came to the idea to use two "Phone Net" adapters to reach the goal. It should be equivalent to use an serial cable. But the moment I was to bid for a pair of Phone Net adapters I saw an printer/serial cable for sale. So I bought this. :)
