Asante Desktop EN/SC

I have successfully gotten power to my Desktop EN/SC adapter, but the LI (Link-integrity) light keeps blinking on and off really quick. my 10/100 switch doesn't seem to light up any lights. Got an idea what's going on?

Nvm, my switches weren't auto-negotiating half-duplex 10baseT. I got it by going into my cisco 2900XL switch and turned port 09 to 10BaseT/Half-Duplex

They don't like 10/100 switches - I find I have to put a straight 10BaseT switch between my EN/SC and my LAN for it to work.

The first version of the Asante EN/SC was announced in October 1990, with shipping promised for December 1990. At the same time, Asante were making NuBus and various PDS ethernet cards.

The OSI standard for autonegotiation of 10BASE-T etc was announced in 1995.

Assume that anything designed before 1995 (which may include products manufactured in later years) may not autonegotiate. Asante were an early adopter of 10BASE-T so the problem is common with their older cards. However, I have seen similar glitches with cards from other manufacturers.
