Anybody got an image handy? Any experience with it working on a 512K or 512Ke? Not finding a lot about it on the net, just v2.x

Appleshare Pro 1.x is for A/UX 3, and not for any other MacOS. It looks and is set up and operates and so forth just like any other Appleshare software, but runs on Unix, and is therefore very robust.

Appleshare 3 was the "classic" version of networking software contemporaneous with Appleshare Pro 1.

Appleshare Server 1.x I have no experience of, but I gather that it runs on system 6 (or earlier?). There is some information on early Appleshare versions (if you dig around and under the lovely Japanese ladies) over at www.mac512.com

Appleshare pro on an AWS95 runs much faster then the classic version on the same type of hardware (not sure if it being in Unix makes the different or using the 512K cache on the special AWS PDS card was doing all the work).

Yes, AppleShare 1.0 was introduced around System 3.3/Finder 5.4 in January 1987, 3 months before the SE & Mac II were introduced, with a corresponding update to AppleShare 1.1

I specify AppleShare "Server" 1.x to distinguish it from the v1.x Workstation software which is fairly common around the net. AFAIK, it was simply called: AppleShare 1.0 and the client software: AppleShare Workstation 1.0

I'm actually looking for an image for AppleShare Workstation v.1x for my Fat Mac. I have a IIci that has Server 3.0 on it and I want to try to get them connected over LocalTalk so I can copy stuff back and forth rather than trying to get 800k disks working.

I spent a lot of time Googling this afternoon and haven't come up with much. I found version 2.0.x, but I don't think that'll work. I also tried to find a copy of System 3.3, Finder 5.4 (System Software 2.0), but that seems to be unobtanium as well.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm sure any of us could help, but I find the Mac512.com via the archive.org site turns up lots of goodies ...

Yup, already been there. That was my first stop in my search -- it has been a tremendous help to me in the past. All of the system software was removed back in 2001. There's lots of great information about doing what I want to do, just no disks. I forgot about archive.org, though.

If you have a specific group of sites that you like to go to, I would be interested in knowing about them as well.

Thanks again.
